RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. & ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 2005--Tecan US, a leader in the Life Sciences industry, today announced the launch of Freedom EVOlyzer(TM) and showcased several other important clinical diagnostic solutions at this year"s XIX ICCC/2005 AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo. This continues to be the pre-eminent industry meeting for clinical diagnostics. The Freedom EVOlyzer(TM) is Tecan"s new instrument family offering fully automated processing for low to high throughput laboratories performing various ELISA tests.

--Freedom EVOlyzer is Tecan"s new Enzyme Immuno Assay (EIA) analyzer offering fully automated processing.

--Freedom EVO 75, the most compact member of the EVO family of liquid handlers. A key new option, the Robotic Manipulator for Freedom EVO 75, is being demonstrated and expands its ability to fully automate the incorporation of readers, washers and incubators commonly used in ELISA tests.

--Profiblot(TM) 48, a new generation fully automated Western Blot processor.

--Sunrise TS Color, a microplate detection instrument. This large color touchscreen display sets a new industry standard in comfortable on-board operation. Sunrise TS Color is user-friendly, processes data rapidly and provides excellent data presentation. The product also works well as a stand-alone with its easy data exchange through its new USB memory stick and its compatibility with USB printers.

--GENios(TM), a multimode microplate reader that combines fluorescence, absorbance and glow luminescence in a single, compact instrument.

--Columbus Pro(TM), a state-of-the-art microplate washer and is the first microplate washer to use a high-end aspiration pump with magnetic drive technology.

--OEM liquid handling modules, including the Cavro XLP 6000, the most versatile of the Cavro pumps, offering resolution between 3,000 and 48,000 steps per stroke and a broad range of programmable dispense speeds.
