These requirements cover shatter containment mechanisms for lamps, for use in food establishments, that are intended to prevent contamination of food. Types of lamps covered by these requirements include incandescent, halogen, linear fluorescent, pin-base compact fluorescent, screwbase compact fluorescent, high intensity discharge (HID), and solid state. These requirements do not apply to the lighting fixtures (luminaires), lamp holders or other apparatus that support the lamps and/or shatter containment mechanism.
