This document specifies the basic rules to be considered by service providers handling privacy in probe vehicle information services. This document is aimed at protecting the privacy as well as the intrinsic rights and interests of the probe data subjects specified in ISO 24100:2010. This document provides specifications of a communication interface (CI) named "ITS-M5". The name "ITS-M5" indicates microwave frequency bands in the range of 5 GHz. ITS-M5 CIs are based on the wireless LAN technology standardized at IEEE. This document specifies conformance tests for a self-conformance assessment of the supplier's P-ITS-S system. The conformance test cases follow the use case definition of ISO/TR 13184-1 and the requirements stated in ISO 13184-2 based on the Data eXchange Message (DXM) at the application level regarding the safety warning and parking guide services between — the Vehicle ITS Station (V-ITS-S) installed in the vehicle, or — a Personal ITS Station (P-ITS-S), e.g. Nomadic Device, in a vehicle or used by a pedestrian, and — a Roadside ITS Station (R-ITS-S) installed at the roadside. The primary but not exclusive purpose of this document is to provide information to the P-ITS-S system provider to build and test the P-ITS-S system against the conformance test cases. This final step in the development process of the P-ITS-S system ensures providers that their P-ITS-S system meets a high degree of functional requirements expected by the end user.

This document provides a formal means to achieve consistency in the use of ASN.1 when specifying data types that are to be used in ITS International Standards. This is designed to ensure unambiguous and interoperable data exchange while providing consistent documentation of these exchanges. This document provides the necessary specifications to ensure consistent interpretation by providing formal references to several standards and in some cases specifying additional rules to promote greater consistency among standards. This document does not require the use of ASN.1 for anything other than providing data type definitions in a common and flexible form. This document makes specific provision for the support of: — Embedding other extant standardised encoding formats, e.g. jpg, while maintaining interoperability and reuse within ITS; — Allowing alternative representations of data type definitions, e.g. XML schema; — Allowing alternative encoding of defined data. The rules presented in this document enable data types to be recorded in a common ITS data registry, and in ITS International Standards, in a common and consistent form.

This document defines the data transfer models between roadside equipment (RSE) and integrated circuit card (ICC) and the interface descriptions between the RSE and on-board equipment (OBE) for on-board accounts using the ICC. It also provides examples of interface definitions and transactions deployed in several countries. This document covers: — data transfer models between the RSE and ICC which correspond to the categorized operational requirements and the data transfer mechanism for each model; — interface definition between the RSE and OBE based on each data transfer model; — interface definition for each model; — functional configuration; — RSE command definitions for ICC access; — data format and data element definitions of RSE commands; — a transaction example for each model in Annex B. Figure 3 shows the configuration of an on-board account and the scope of this document. The descriptions in this document focus on the interface between the RSE and OBU to access the ICC. NOTE The existing standards for physical and other protocol layers both between the RSE and OBE, and between OBE and ICC, are outside the scope of this document. For example, DSRC-related items (L-1, L-2 and L-7) and ICC-related items (ICC commands, data definition, etc.) are outside the scope of this document. There are two types of virtual bridges contained in an OBU. The first type is Bridge-1 on which an RSE command sent from the RSE is decomposed and the ICC access command contained in the application protocol data unit (APDU) part of the RSE command is transferred to ICC I/F to access the ICC. The second type is Bridge-2 in which an RSE command sent from the RSU is transformed to ICC access command and transferred to ICC I/F to access the ICC.  1  Bridge-1 corresponds to the transparent type and the buffering type defined in this document, whereas Bridge-2 corresponds to the cashing type.
