Novo Nordisk is the world leader in diabetes care and has leading positions within haemophilia management, growth hormone therapy and hormone replacement therapy. The company is currently expanding into inflammatory diseases. Novo Nordisk employs c. 26,000 employees in 79 countries, including 4,600 people in R&D, and invests annually 1.5 billion USD in R&D.

Beijing Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals Science and Technology Co. Ltd (also known as Novo Nordisk China R&D Center) is an integrated part of Novo Nordisk's R&D organization focusing on the discovery and development of new treatments for inflammation and haemostasis disorders; also, it’s the first R&D organization set up by an international pharmaceutical company in China.

Building on its extensive expertise in protein expression and purification, this center actively pursues novel drug target identification and evaluation in the area of immunotherapy against inflammatory diseases. We now have excellent opportunities for a few highly motivated scientists, who plan to advance their careers in China:

Molecular Biology Department
The department of Molecular Biology is responsible for all the necessary and major resource demanding molecular biology technologies. We develop and master all necessary genetics expression technologies in all relevant host systems including CMC strain development. Further more, the department is constantly striving on building competency in the field of molecular antibody technology to modify, engineer and express antibodies of desired properties.

Protein Chemistry Department
The department of Protein Chemistry is responsible for the renaturation, purification, modification and biophysical characterization of proteins and antibodies.

Cell Biology Department
This department is responsible for the establishment of technology platforms and expertise in in vitro mammalian cell biology to support drug development projects, e.g., cell based functional assays and screening assays. The department is also responsible for the development and production of assay antibodies as well as therapeutic monoclonal antibodies, and develops various monoclonal antibody technologies.

Diabetes Research Department.
Department of Diabetes Research is part of Novo Nordisk China R&D centre as an integrated part of Novo Nordisk’s R&D organization. The department is responsible for support of diabetes and obesity research projects in the discovery phase. Currently, the department consist of 5 scientists, 2 associate scientists, 4 research assistants and a department manager. We are a highly motivated and productive team with high standards for our deliveries into the projects and an increasing focus on flexible processes in our daily work. We work with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment and value a high team spirit, good communication and dynamic collaboration between both scientists and technicians. The department is expected to grow over the next years, which leads to excellent opportunities for individual development for our scientists.
