abstract:

This application note describes the performance of the Thermo Scientific iCAP 6500 Duo for the analysis of environmental sample types by the US EPA method 6010. The method is suitable for the determination of 31 elements in ground waters, TCLP & EP extracts, industrial and organic wastes, soils, sludges, and sediments. All samples except filtered groundwater must be digested prior to analysis using EPA method 3050b or similar. This method and its variants are widely used for the analysis of environmental samples in North American and worldwide laboratories and the ability to undertake this type of analysis using such method therefore represent an important benchmark for any ICP instrument.
