Proposal Content and Format
Session proposals should include a one-page summary of the session, including:
Description of session
Statement regarding how the session can benefit HUPO 2023 Congress attendees
Three main objectives for the session
Proposed speakers including affiliation and contact information
Intended audience for session
Proposed length of session (1.5 – 4 hours)
Important Things to Note Before Submitting a Proposal
If your session proposal is accepted, the HUPO 2023 Congress will provide a session room at the Congress venue with basic AV equipment (projector, screen, microphones).
The Congress will not be able to provide any additional financial support for food & beverage, additional AV expenses, speaker support or any other expenses. Should you require financial support, the Congress may approve registration fees being charged to attendees, which should cover these costs. Please provide a budget with a cost estimate and proposed registration fees as part of your workshop proposal.
The session will be listed in the program on the website, mobile app and in all official Congress materials, however, you are encouraged to personally invite people to attend the session. Anyone attending the session will have to be registered for the HUPO 2023 Congress.
It will be the organizer’s responsibility to make all arrangements for the session including speaker arrangements.
The final agenda for inclusion in the onsite materials must be submitted to the Congress Secretariat no later than July 14, 2023.
Industry can help with the creation of the session; however, the session is not to be used for the promotion of commercial products or services.
Acceptance Criteria
Each session proposal will be evaluated according to the relevance of its topic, the expertise and experience of the session organizers, and the session’s potential for attracting participants and generating useful results and discussions. We underline the importance of active and creative sessions that foster a collaborative environment and incorporate a variety of instructional approaches. We welcome sessions that provide practical guidance for conducting and managing team science in a variety of contexts and settings.
