　　The Wallac ViewLux ultraHTS microplate imager is a CCD-camera based high throughput multilabel reader for fluorometric, time-resolved fluorometric, fluorescence polarization, photometric and luminometric assay technologies. ViewLux has a cooled CCD camera and telecentric lens arrangement to image entire microplate in one. It can measure and analyze 1536-well plate in less than 30 seconds to allow throughputs in excess of 200,000 samples per hour. Modular design of the instrument allows you to match your application needs in terms of technologies, camera and loading options. The ViewLux is an extremely sensitive instrument for luminescence measurements. The applications include ATP and Luciferase detections as well as radioactive measurements.

　　The detector is a Peltier-cooled CCD camera coupled to an optimized telecentric optical lens. The high-sensitivity camera is a back-illuminated CCD operating at -100° Celsius. For epi-fluorescence excitation there is an extremely powerful array of flash-lamps together with high-quality optics. The instrument supports both robot loading and batch mode operation. Up to 64 plates can be loaded for unattended operation. Users can alternate between batch and robot loading according to needs. For protocol and plate identification, bar code readers are set to read from the short and long edges of the plate.

　　The ViewLux Workstation software is compatible with Windows NT. It allows full control over image acquisition and image display. Results are automatically stored in the ViewLux database and can then be exported for analysis by other applications.

　　There are two cameras available for the instrument. One of the main differences between these two cameras is the quantum efficiency. The standard camera is front-illuminated and operates at -50 °C. The high-sensitivity camera is a back-illuminated CCD operating at -100° Celsius. In the back-illuminated camera light hits the silicon pixels directly which improves the sensitivity of the instrument.
