Scope

1) This standard specifies the platinum-cobalt standard colorimetric method for the determination of the chromaticity of drinking water and its source water. This method is applicable to the determination of chromaticity in drinking water and its source water. 2) This standard stipulates that the turbidity of drinking water and its source water shall be determined by scattering method with Formazine as the standard. This method is applicable to the determination of turbidity in drinking water and its source water. 3) This standard specifies the smell and taste method for the determination of odor and taste of drinking water and its source water. This method is applicable to the determination of odor and taste in drinking water and its source water. 4) This standard specifies the direct observation method for the determination of visible substances in drinking water and source water.
