This part of ISO 5247 establishes a vocabulary and system of classification for weaving machines used in the textile industry for the production of woven fabrics by the weaving technique, i.e. by interlacing two (or more) systems of parallel threads, and by machines using hybrid forming methods. NOTE In addition to terms used in English and French, two of the three official ISO languages, this part of ISO 5247 gives the equivalent terms in German; these are published under the responsibility of the member body for Germany (DIN). However, only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.

Abstract This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 296:1974). Specifies the dimensions of tapers for general use, smaller and larger tapers. The standard sizes of these tapers are given in table 2 (in millimetres) and table 3 (in inches), respectively. Provides for those elements which are threaded, two entirely distinct types of product according to the type of thread, M or UNC (see figures in clause 4).

Abstract This part of ISO 7404 applies only to determinations made on polished particular blocks using reflected white ligth. The examination is carried out by using reflected ligth microscope and point count procedure. The microlithotypes are identified from their maceral composition under an immersion medium. The proportions of the macerals are determined using a graticule having a grid with 20 points of intersection.

This part of ISO 7404 defines terms that are used in connection both with maceral and microlithotype analyses carried out in white light and with the determination of the reflectance of vitrinite. It applies to the terms used in the examination of bituminous coal and anthracite only and is not concerned with the analysis of brown coal, sub-bituminous coal or lignite. This part of ISO 7404 is not intended to be a comprehensive glossary of coal petrographic terminology, nor does it attempt to provide sufficient information to allow recognition of all the coal components described. Further information may be obtained from the International Handbook of Coal Petrography (see the fourth paragraph of the introduction).
