ISO/TS 15453:2017 details the checks, inspections and tests to be performed in order to qualify and certify existing seamless steel and aluminium-alloy cylinders of water capacity less than 150 l used for the transport of gases, manufactured in a jurisdiction in accordance with its national regulations, for use in jurisdictions other than that of manufacture or first use. NOTE For specific requirements regarding gas cylinders that have been used in toxic gas service, see 5.7. ISO/TS 15453:2017 does not address acetylene cylinders.

ISO 11119-4:2016 specifies requirements for composite gas cylinders with load-sharing welded liners between 0,5 l and 150 l water capacity and a maximum test pressure of 450 bar for the storage and conveyance of compressed or liquefied gases. NOTE 1 1 bar = 105Pa = 105N/m2. The cylinders are constructed in the form of a welded stainless steel liner or welded ferritic steel liner or welded aluminium alloy liner and overwrapped with carbon fibre or aramid fibre or glass fibre (or a mixture thereof) in a matrix to provide longitudinal and circumferential reinforcement. The cylinders in this part of ISO 11119 are type 3 fully wrapped cylinders with a load-sharing metal liner and composite reinforcement on both the cylindrical portion and the dome ends. Cylinders produced in accordance with this part of ISO 11119 have a minimum design life of 15 years. Cylinders with test pressure of up to 60 bar have an unlimited design life. ISO 11119-4:2016 does not address the design, fitting, and performance of removable protective sleeves. ISO 11119-4:2016 does not apply to cylinders with seamless liners. For seamless liners, ISO 11119‑2 applies. NOTE 2 ISO 11623 covers periodic inspection and re-testing of composite cylinders.

ISO 3807:2013 specifies the basic and type testing requirements for acetylene cylinders with and without fusible plugs with a maximum nominal water capacity of 150 l and requirements regarding production/batch test procedures for manufacturing of acetylene cylinders with porous material. It does not include details of the design of the cylinder shell; these are specified, for example, in ISO 9809 1, ISO 9809 3, ISO 4706 and ISO 7866.

ISO 17879:2017 specifies the design, type testing, marking and manufacturing tests and examinations requirements for self-closing cylinder valves intended to be fitted to refillable transportable gas cylinders which convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases. NOTE 1 The main applications for such self-closing cylinder valves are in the calibration gas and beverage industries. ISO 17879:2017 covers the function of a self-closing cylinder valve as a closure. NOTE 2 Requirements for standard cylinder valves are given in ISO 10297. Requirements for quick-release cylinder valves are given in ISO 17871. ISO 17879:2017 is not applicable to self-closing cylinder valves for cryogenic equipment, for portable fire extinguishers, or for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). NOTE 3 Requirements for valves for cryogenic vessels are specified in ISO 21011 and at a regional level, for example, in EN 1626. 1   Scope This International Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the filling conditions and filling inspection of acetylene cylinder bundles. It applies both to bundles which are filled while the cylinders are assembled in the bundle and to bundles of which the cylinders are filled as individual cylinders and are assembled into a bundle after filling. It does not apply to bundles containing solvent -free acetylene cylinders . This International Standard is not applicable to individual acetylene cylinders that are not intended to be assembled into a bundle (see ISO 11372).

This document, in conjunction with ISO 10297 and ISO 14246, specifies design, type testing, marking and manufacturing tests, and examinations requirements for quick-release cylinder valves intended to be fitted to refillable transportable gas cylinders, pressure drums and tubes which convey: — non-toxic; — non-oxidizing; — non-flammable; and — non-corrosive; compressed or liquefied gases or extinguishing agents charged with compressed gases to be used for fire-extinguishing, explosion protection, and rescue applications. NOTE 1 The main application of such quick-release cylinder valves is in the fire-fighting industry. However, there are other applications such as avalanche airbags, life raft inflation and similar applications. NOTE 2 Where there is no risk of ambiguity, gas cylinders, pressure drums and tubes are addressed with the collective term "cylinders" within this document. This document covers the function of a quick-release cylinder valve as a closure. This document does not apply to quick-release cylinder valves for cryogenic equipment and for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). This document does not apply to quick-release cylinder valves if used as the main closure of portable fire extinguishers because portable fire extinguishers are not covered by transport regulation. What is ISO 10961 - Gas cylinders about? ISO 10961 is a series on gas cylinders. A gas cylinder is a pressure vessel for the storage and containment of gases at above atmospheric pressure. ISO 10961 specifies the requirements for the design, construction, testing and initial inspection of a transportable cylinder bundle. ISO 10961 is applicable to cylinder bundles containing cylinders containing compressed gas, liquefied gas, and mixtures thereof. ISO 10961 is also applicable to cylinder bundles for acetylene. Additional requirements for acetylene cylinder bundles containing acetylene in a solvent are provided in ISO 10961 . ISO 10961 specifies the additional requirements that apply when individual cylinders are assembled into a bundle. Unless otherwise stated, individual cylinders within a cylinder bundle conform to applicable standards for single cylinders. This document provides specification and testing requirements for high pressure flexible hose assemblies intended to be connected to gas cylinders, bundles of cylinders or trailers (battery vehicles), and MEGCs for use when filling and emptying gas at production sites and also for customer use. This document applies to flexible hose assemblies with rated pressures up to 1 000 bar for use in the temperature range of −40 °C to +65 °C.
