4.1 Structural plate structures function structurally as a flexible ring that is supported by and interacts with the compacted surrounding soil. The soil placed around the structure is thus an integral part of the structural system. It is therefore important to ensure that the soil structure is made up of acceptable material and is well constructed. Field verification of soil structure acceptability using Test Methods D1556, D2167, D6938, or D2937, as applicable, and comparing the results with either Test Methods D698 or D1557, in accordance with the specifications for each project, is the most common basis for installation of an acceptable structure. Depending on the backfill used, other qualitative or performance-based methods acceptable to the engineer may also be used. The required density and method of measurement are not specified by this practice, but must be established in the specifications for each project. 1.1 This practice covers procedures, soils, and soil placement for the proper installation of corrugated steel structural plate pipe, pipe-arches, arches, and underpasses produced to Specification A761/A761M, in either trench or embankment installations. A typical trench installation and a typical embankment (projection) installation are shown in Figs. 1 and 2, respectively. Structural plate structures as described herein are those structures factory fabricated in plate form and bolted together on site to provide the required shape, size, and length of structure. This practice applies to structures designed in accordance with Practice A796/A796M. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.3 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units shall be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other, without combining values in any way. SI units are shown in brackets in the text for clarity, but they are the applicable values when the installation is to be performed using SI units.

1.1 This specification covers pressure consolidated powder metallurgy iron-nickel-chromium-molybdenum (UNS N08367) and nickel-chromium-molybdenumcolumbium (Nb) (UNS N06625) pipe flanges, fittings, valves, and parts intended for general corrosion or heat-resisting service. 1.1.1 UNS N06625 products are furnished in two grades of different heat-treated conditions: 1.1.1.1 Grade 1 (annealed)—Material is normally employed in service temperatures up to 1100°F (593°C). 1.1.1.2 Grade 2 (solution annealed)—Material is normally employed in service temperatures above 1100°F (593°C) when resistance to creep and rupture is required. 1.2 UNS N08367 products are furnished in the solution annealed condition. 1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.4 The following safety hazards caveat pertains only to test methods portions, Sections 7.3 and 13, of this specification: This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to become familiar with all hazards including those identified in the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this product/material as provided by the manufacturer, to establish appropriate safety and health practices, and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

1.1 This specification covers seamless wrought zirconium-alloy tubes for nuclear fuel cladding application, in the outside diameter (OD) size range of 0.200 in. (5.1 mm) to 0.650 in. (16.5 mm) and wall thickness range of 0.010 in. (0.25 mm) to 0.035 in. (0.89 mm). 1.2 Two grades of reactor grade zirconium alloys are described. 1.2.1 The present UNS numbers designated for the two grades are given in Table 1. 1.3 Unless a single unit is used, for example corrosion mass gain in mg/dm2, the values stated in either inch-pound or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore each system must be used independently of the other. SI values cannot be mixed with inch-pound values. 1.4 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to the test method portions of this specification: This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This specification covers aluminum and aluminum-alloy drawn tube and drawnpipe in straight lengths and tube in coils for general purpose applications in the alloys (Note 2), and tempers shown in Tables 1 and 2. Coiled tubes are generally available only as round tubes with a wall thickness not exceeding 0.083 in. [2.00 mm] and only in non-heat-treatable alloys.Note 1—For drawn seamless tubes, see Specifications B210 and B210M, for tubes to be used in condensers and heat exchangers, Specifications B234 and B234M, and for seamless pipe, Specification B241/B241M. For extruded structural tube and pipe, see Specification B429.Note 2—this specification use of the term alloy in the general sense includes aluminum as well as aluminum alloy. 1.2 Alloy and temper designations are in accordance with ANSI H35.1/H35.1(M). The equivalent Unified Number System alloy designations are those of Table 3 preceded by A9, for example A91060 for aluminum 1060 in accordance with Practice E527. 1.3 For acceptance criteria for inclusion of new aluminum and aluminum alloys in this specification, see Annex A2. 1.4 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard. 1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

5.1 When properly performed and interpreted, the expansion pin test will provide information with regard to the capacity of a tube for expansion and to reveal surface defects. The expansion pin test may provide data for research and development, engineering design, quality control, and acceptance or rejections in specifications. 5.2 In certain product specifications which establish requirements for tubes of sizes greater than 4 in. (102 mm), the test described in Test Method B968/B968M may be allowed as a substitute. 1.1 This test method establishes the requirements for the expansion pin test for copper and copper-alloy pipe and tubing with an inside diameter of 0.125 in. (3.2 mm) and greater or an outside diameter up to and including 4 in. (102 mm). Note 1: For tubes of sizes with an inside diameter less than 0.125 in. (3.2 mm), a substitute test method must be agreed upon between the manufacturer and purchaser. Note 2: For tubes of sizes greater than 4 in. (102 mm) in outside diameter, refer to B968/B968M for a test method. 1.2 Units—The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
