This part of IEC 60534 applies to the following control valves: – types: segmented ball and eccentric rotary control valves with or without flanges; – nominal sizes: DN20 up to and including DN400; NOTE 1 See ISO 7005 and ISO 6708. – designations: PN10, PN16, PN20, PN25, PN40, PN50, PN63, PN100 and PN110. NOTE 2 See ISO 7005 and ISO 7268. NOTE 3 Designations PN63 and PN100 are not included in ISO 7005. NOTE 4 Designations PN20, PN50 and PN110 are not included in European Standard EN 1092. NOTE 5 For the purposes of face-to-face dimensions, designation PN100 in EN 1092 corresponds to PN110. NOTE 6 For the purposes of face-to-face dimensions, the following correlations apply: – PN20 covers Classes 125 and 150 in the ANSI system; – PN50 covers Classes 250 and 300 in the ANSI system; – PN110 covers Class 600 in the ANSI system. This part of IEC 60534 establishes a theoretical method to predict the external soundpressure level generated in a control valve and within adjacent pipe expanders by the flow of compressible fluids. This method considers only single-phase dry gases and vapours and is based on the perfect gas laws. This standard addresses only the noise generated by aerodynamic processes in valves and in the connected piping. It does not consider any noise generated by reflections from external surfaces or internally by pipe fittings, mechanical vibrations, unstable flow patterns and other unpredictable behaviour. It is assumed that the downstream piping is straight for a length of at least 2 m from the point where the noise measurement is made. This method is valid only for steel and steel alloy pipes (see Equations (21) and (23) in 5.5). The method is applicable to the following single-stage valves: globe (straight pattern and angle pattern), butterfly, rotary plug (eccentric, spherical), ball, and valves with cage trims. Specifically excluded are the full bore ball valves where the product FpC exceeds 50 % of the rated flow coefficient. For limitations on special low noise trims not covered by this standard, see Clause 8. When the Mach number in the valve outlet exceeds 0,3 for standard trim or 0,2 for low noise trim, the procedure in Clause 7 is used

This section of IEC 60534-6 is intended to permit a variety of positioning devices, which respond to a linear motion, to be mounted on the actuator of a control valve, either directly or by employing an intermediate mounting bracket. This section is applicable where interchangeability between actuators and positioners is desired. The following parameters define the intended applicability of this section for the guidance of manufacturers and users. – The standardized mounting applies only to positioners which are mounted on the side of the actuator. – The standardized mounting applies in general only to actuators which have a travel from 10 mm through 100 mm. – The standardized mounting is designed to cover three basic types of actuator designs (see figure 1): a) those with some form of cast or fabricated yoke to connect the actuator power unit to the valve; b) those which use some form of central tube yoke to connect the actuator power unit to the valve; c) those in which the yoke incorporates two or more columns or pillars to connect the actuator power unit to the valve.

This part of IEC 60534-8 defines equipment, methods, and procedures for obtaining laboratory measurements of sound pressure levels radiated by control valves and/or associated piping configurations, including fixed restrictions, through which compressible fluids are passing. Control valves discharging to atmosphere are excluded from this standard. Method A is a uniform method of measuring the radiated noise from the valve and associated test piping and allows a comparison of various measuring results which is beneficial for both user and manufacturer. The noise criteria are expressed by determining the sound pressure level of the valve under consideration. Method B is a procedure for measuring the sound pressure levels within pipe systems upstream and downstream of the valve under fixed operating conditions. Since inaccuracies due to the pipe transmission are eliminated, this method is preferred for evaluation of the acoustical characteristic of valves. The noise characteristics to be determined are useful for the following reasons: a) to compare the performance of different valves; b) to plan measures for noise abatement; c) to determine acoustical characteristics of valves and valve assemblies; d) to enable proper sizing of sound absorbers; e) to determine possible adverse effects on ultra-sonic flow meter measurements.

Es gibt jedoch auch andere Anwendungen, beispielsweise, aber nicht begrenzt auf Lawinen-Airbags, Aufblasen von Rettungsinseln und ähnliche Anwendungen. Diese Internationale Norm behandelt die Funktion eines Schnellöffnungs-Flaschenventils als Verschlusseinrichtung. This European Standard specifies the general safety, design, construction, and performance requirements and testing for safety, control or regulating devices (hereafter referred to as controls) for burners and appliances burning one or more gaseous fuels or liquid fuels. This European Standard is applicable to controls with declared maximum inlet pressure up to and including 500 kPa of nominal connection sizes up to and including DN 250. This European standard specifies general product requirements for the following controls: - automatic shut-off valves; - automatic burner control systems; - flame supervision devices; - gas/air ratio controls; - pressure regulators; - manual taps; - mechanical thermostats; - multifunctional controls; - pressure sensing devices; - valve proving systems; - automatic vent valves. This European standard applies for control functions that are not covered by a specific control standard for burners and appliances burning one or more gaseous fuels or liquid fuels. This European Standard applies also for safety accessories and pressure accessories with a product of the maximum allowable pressure PS and the volume V of less than 600000 kPa - dm 3(6000 bar- litres) or with a product of PS and DN of less than 300000 kPa (3000 bar). This European Standard applies for AC and DC supplied controls (for controls supplied by stand-alone battery system, battery systems for mobile applications or systems which are intended to be connected to DC supply networks controls see Annex I). This European Standard is applicable to reset functions used for reset from lockout, e. g. due to ignition failure or temperature cut-out in burners and appliances (see Annex M). This European Standard establishes methodologies for the determination of a Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and the determination of a Performance Level (PL) (see Annex J, Annex K and Annex L). This European Standard gives guidelines for environmental aspects (see Annex N). This European Standard does not apply to mechanical controls for use with liquid fuels. The protection against environmental impact in open air (i.e. capable of withstanding UV radiation, wind, rain, snow, dirt deposits, condensation, ice and hoar frost (see IEV 441-11-05:2005), earthquake and external fire) is not covered by this standard. This European Standard should be used in conjunction with the specific control standard (see Bibliography).

This European Standard specifies the design, testing and inspection requirements for pressure relief valve isolating devices, valve manifolds, vent pipes and system assemblies which are, where necessary, used with pressure relief valves for use in static pressure vessels for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) service. This European Standard addresses both prototype testing and production testing of isolating devices and PRV manifolds. Pressure relief valves for LPG pressure vessels are specified in EN 14129:2014.

This European Standard specifies the requirements for the reconditioning, retesting and certification of Pressure Relief Valves (PRVs) for LPG pressure vessels covered under the scope of EN 14129. This European Standard applies to retesting and reconditioning of PRVs that are carried out in a workshop and does not apply to site adjustment of installed PRVs. Annex A is an informative annex detailing a sampling approach for PRV requalification which should only be used in case of on-site requalification of series produced pressure vessels fitted with series produced PRVs.
