IEC 62657-1:2017 provides the wireless communication requirements dictated by the applications of wireless communication systems in industrial automation, and requirements of related context. The requirements are specified in a way that is independent of the wireless technology employed. The requirements are described in detail and in such a way as to be understood by a large audience, including readers who are not familiar with the industry applications. This first edition cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC TS 62657-1 published in 2014. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to IEC TS 62657‑1:2014: a) update of requirements for wireless industrial applications; b) addition of performance indicators and their measurement.

This part of IEC 62699 describes mapping rules and exchange methods for the development of general and extendable integrated services utilizing heterogeneous multi-national or multienterprise electronic parts library data. The scope of this technical report is as follows: a) identification and classification of mapping types for mapping heterogeneous electronic parts libraries; b) definition of general mapping rules and specific mapping rules commonly applying to various mapping types. This part of the IEC 62264 series describes the manufacturing operations management domain (Level 3) and its activities, and the interface content and associated transactions within Level 3 and between Level 3 and Level 4. This description enables integration between the manufacturing operations and control domain (Levels 3, 2, 1) and the enterprise domain (Level 4). The interface content between Level 3 and Level 2 is only briefly discussed. The goals are to increase uniformity and consistency of interface terminology and reduce the risk, cost, and errors associated with implementing these interfaces. IEC 62264-1 can be used to reduce the effort associated with implementing new product offerings. The goal is to have enterprise systems and control systems that inter-operate and easily integrate. The scope of this part of IEC 62264 is limited to: a) a presentation of the enterprise domain and the manufacturing operations and control domain; b) the definition of three hierarchical models; a functional hierarchy model, a role-based equipment hierarchy model, and a physical asset equipment hierarchy model; c) a listing of the functions associated with the interface between manufacturing operations and control functions and enterprise functions; and d) a description of the information that is shared between manufacturing operations and control functions and enterprise functions.

This standard defines the following: a) Defines structures in STIL for specifying the DC conditions for a DUT. Examples of the DC condi-tions for device power supplies are DPS setup, power sequencing to the device, and power supply limiting/clamping. Examples of the DC conditions for commonly used signal references are VIL, VIII, VOL, VOH, 10L, IOH, VREF, VCIampLow, and VCIampHi. b) Defines structures in STIL such that the DC conditions may be specified either globally, by pattern burst, by pattern, or by vector. c) Defines structures in STIL to allow specification of alternate DC levels. Examples of commonly used alternate levels are VIHH, VIPP, and VILL. d) Defines structures in STIL such that the DC levels and alternate levels can be selected within a period, much the same as timed format events.

This International Standard specifies a method of reliable ‎and secure wireless operation for non-critical monitoring, ‎alerting, supervisory control, open loop control, and closed ‎loop control applications. This standard defines a protocol ‎suite, including system management, gateway considerations, ‎and security specifications, for low-data-rate wireless ‎connectivity with fixed, portable, and slowly-moving ‎devices, often operating under severe energy and power ‎constraints. The application focus of this standard is the ‎performance needs of process automation monitoring and ‎control, where end-to-end communication delays on the ‎order of 100 ms can be tolerated.‎ This standard specifies the following:‎ ‎• physical layer service definition and protocol specification;‎ ‎• data-link layer service definition and protocol ‎specification;‎ ‎• network layer service definition and protocol specification;‎ ‎• transport layer service definition and protocol ‎specification;‎ ‎• application layer service definition and protocol ‎specification, including support for protocol tunneling and ‎gateways;‎ ‎• security and security management;‎ ‎• provisioning and configuration;‎ ‎• network management; and‎ ‎• additive communication role profiles (i.e., one or more can ‎be selected concurrently).‎ Functionality above the application layer of the OSI Basic ‎Reference Model, such as the socalled User Layer and ‎different profiles for functionality at that layer, is not ‎addressed. However, it is discussed briefly in Annex A.‎

This Technical Report (TR) provides an evaluation and assessment of electronic device description language (EDDL) technology. It provides guidance to device and system manufacturers for how EDDL technology can help them meet user requirements. It provides guidance to system integrators, as well as instrumentation and maintenance practitioners at end-user companies, on how EDDL technology can help them integrate systems and incorporate device management in their work processes. This TR gives examples of requirements from the NAMUR NE 105 recommendation. It is the intent of this TR to illustrate how EDDL technology and products based on EDDL technology meet these requirements. This TR provides a current assessment of the capability of the EDDL technology and the features and capabilities it enables in devices and tools such as handheld field communicators, distributed control system (DCS) engineering software, DCS operator software, device management software as part of plant asset management solutions, as well as stand-alone software for use in laptop or tablet computers.
