IEC 62873-3-1:2016(E) applies to RCDs equipped with screwless terminals, for current not exceeding 20 A primarily suitable for connecting unprepared (see 3.5) copper conductors of cross-section up to 4 mm2. This part of IEC 62873 cannot be used alone but it is intended to be applied together with an RCD product standard (IEC 61008-1 or IEC 61009-1) if an RCD is equipped with screwless terminals.

IEC 63024:2017 applies to automatic reclosing devices (ARDs) for household and similar uses, for rated voltage not exceeding 440 V AC, and which are intended to be used in combination with circuit-breakers, RCCBs and RCBOs, and designed either for factory assembly or for assembly on site. These devices are intended to reclose main protective devices (MPDs) such as circuit-breakers complying with IEC 60898-1 and/or IEC 60898-2, RCCBs complying with IEC 61008-1 and/or IEC 62423, and RCBOs complying with IEC 61009-1 and/or IEC 62423 after tripping of those devices in order to re-establish continuity of service.

IEC 60127-8:2018 relates to fuse resistors with particular overcurrent protection rated up to AC 500 V and/or DC 500 V for printed circuits and other substrate systems, used for the protection of electric appliances, electronic equipment and component parts thereof, normally intended to be used indoors. It does not apply to fuse resistors with particular overcurrent protection for appliances intended to be used under special conditions, such as in a corrosive or explosive atmosphere. The object of this part of IEC 60127 is a) to establish uniform requirements for fuse resistors with particular overcurrent protection so as to protect appliances or parts of appliances in the most suitable way; b) to define the performance of the fuse resistors with particular overcurrent protection, so as to give guidance to manufacturers of electrical appliances and electronic equipment and to ensure replacement of fuse resistors with particular overcurrent protection by those of similar dimensions and characteristics; c) to establish uniform test methods for fuse resistors with particular overcurrent protection, so as to allow verification of the values (for example rated dissipation, functioning characteristic and rated breaking capacity values) specified by the manufacturer. This part of IEC 60127 applies in addition to the requirements of IEC 60127-1. This first edition of IEC 60127-8 cancels and replaces IEC PAS 60127-8:2014. IEC 60099-9:2014 applies to non-linear metal-oxide resistor type surge arresters without spark gaps designed to limit overvoltages in HVDC converter stations of two terminal, multiterminal and back-to-back type up to and including an operating voltage of 1 100 kV. The standard applies in general to porcelain-housed and polymer-housed type arresters but also to gas-insulated metal enclosed arresters (GIS-arresters) solely used as d.c. bus and d.c. line/cable arresters. Arresters for voltage source converters are not covered. Arresters applied on the a.c. systems at the converter station and subjected to power-frequency voltage of 50 or 60 Hz principally without harmonics are tested as per IEC 60099-4. IEC 60282-1:2020 applies to all types of high-voltage current-limiting fuses designed for use outdoors or indoors on alternating current systems of 50 Hz and 60 Hz and of rated voltages exceeding 1 000 V. This eighth edition cancels and replaces the seventh edition published in 2009. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: – additional information concerning thermally operated strikers; – the division of ratings, characteristics and type tests into those applicable to all fuses and those applicable to particular fuse-link types and applications; – adjustment of Series II voltages and tests to meet present North American standard system voltages and applications; – clarification of requirements for fuse-links used in surrounding temperatures above 40 °C; and – clarification of homogeneous requirements for fuse-links containing one element.

IEC 62873-1:2017 The IEC 62873 series covers available common standards intended to be used in conjunction with or for the preparation of RCD (residual current device) standards. This part of IEC 62873 defines the methodology and processes used when producing standards based on a new approach (hereafter referred to as blocks and modules) aiming at harmonizing a family of standards, thus avoiding mistakes, inconsistencies or discrepancies within this family of standards. This Standard applies to Class A, single- and three-phase, ground-fault circuit-interrupters intended for protection of personnel, for use only in grounded neutral systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), ANSI/NFPA 70, the Canadian Electrical Code, C22.1 (CEC), and Electrical Installations (Use), NOM-001-SEDE.
