This part of IEC 61800 specifies a generic interface between power drive system(s) (PDS) and the application control program in a controller. The generic PDS interface is not specific to any particular communication network technology. Annexes of this part of IEC 61800 specify the mapping of the different drive profiles types onto the generic PDS interface. The functions specified in this part of IEC 61800 are not intended to ensure functional safety. This requires additional measures according to the relevant standards@ agreements and laws.

The purpose of this part of ISO/IEC TR 10000 is to provide principles and a classification scheme for OSI profiles which may be or have been submitted for ratification as International Standardized Profiles (ISPs).1 ISO/IEC TR 10000-1 defines the concept of profiles which are documented in ISPs. OSI profiles are a subset of OSE profiles. ISO/IEC TR 10000-3 defines the concept of OSE profiles and, along with ISO/IEC TR 10000-1, gives guidance to organizations making proposals for Draft ISPs, on the nature and content of the documents they are producing. The existence of a profile classification in this part of ISO/IEC TR 10000 does not reflect a judgment by ISO/IEC JTC 1/SGFS that a profile is required for such capability. It merely provides a capability to identify uniquely such a function and to enable evaluation of PDISPs. Since profiles will be proposed according to needs identified to SGFS and according to the progress of international base standardization, the Taxonomy will be periodically updated or have new parts added in order to reflect the progress reached. It is also recognized that there will be proposals for the extension of the Taxonomy to cover functions which were not identified during preparation of this edition of ISO/IEC TR 10000. These extensions may be identified by a variety of proposers and involve simple extensions to the existing Taxonomy or the addition of new functional areas not currently covered by ISO/IEC TR 10000. The inclusion of such extensions is administered following the procedures elaborated by SGFS. A distinction has been made between a profile and an ISP documenting one or more profiles. The Taxonomy is only concerned with profiles, but further information is given in the "Directory of ISPs and Profiles contained therein" as to which ISP contains the documentation of a profile. This Directory is maintained as an SGFS standing document SD-4 (see Annex A). For each draft profile submitted to SGFS, it will also provide additional information, including the status of the identified profiles.

The purpose of this part of ISO/IEC TR 10000 is to provide the context for functional standardization in support of Open System Environments (OSE). It provides principles and a classification scheme for OSE profiles which may be or have been submitted for ratification as International Standardized Profiles (ISPs). ISO/IEC TR 10000-1 defines the concept of profiles that are documented as ISPs. This part of ISO/IEC TR 10000 outlines the basic OSE objectives and concepts, and defines an approach and format for OSE profiles specified by International Standardized Profiles. It gives guidance to organizations proposing Draft OSE ISPs, on the nature and content of the documents which may be submitted for ratification as International Standardized Profiles. An OSE is defined as a comprehensive set of interfaces, services and supporting formats (including user aspects) enabling interoperability and portability of applications, data or people, as specified by information technology standards and profiles. Communication protocols are part of the specification of behaviour at certain types of interfaces. Each OSE profile is created to satisfy a clearly specified set of user requirements. Since profiles will be proposed according to needs identified to SGFS and according to the progress of international base standardization, the Taxonomy will be periodically updated or have new parts added in order to reflect the progress reached. It is also recognized that there will be proposals for the extension of the taxonomy to cover functions which were not identified during the preparation of this edition of ISO/IEC TR 10000. These extensions may be identified by a variety of proposers and involve simple extensions to the existing Taxonomy or the addition of new functional areas not currently covered by ISO/IEC TR 10000. The inclusion of such extensions is administered following the procedures elaborated by SGFS. A distinction has been made between a profile and an ISP which documents one or more profiles. The Taxonomy is only concerned with profiles, but further information is given in the “Directory of ISPs and Profiles contained therein” as to which ISP contains the documentation of a profile. This Directory is maintained as an SGFS standing document SD-4 (see reference in Annex A). For each draft profile submitted to SGFS, it will also provide additional information, including the status of the identified profiles

This part of IEC 61784 specifies the installation profiles for CPF 4 (P-NET)1. The installation profiles are specified in the annexes. These annexes are read in conjunction with IEC 61918:2013. 1 P-NET is the trade name of International P-NET User Organisation ApS (IPUO). This information is given for the convenience of users of this International Standard and does not constitute an endorsement by IEC of the trademark holder or any of its products. Compliance to this profile does not require use of the trade name PNET. Use of the trade name P-NET requires permission of the trade name holder.

This part of ISO/IEC 14543 presents methods for overall building management of the home electronic system (HES) architecture. The interaction of building and home control systems requires a demarcation between building manager versus tenant responsibilities. A method for implementing agreements between building managers and tenants regarding user access to and control of applications via a firewall is specified. This technical report augments series ISO/IEC 14543, the architecture of HES (Home Electronic System), in order to accommodate both home and building automation in a mixed use building. Both systems may coexist in a building with shops, offices and apartments. Some systems are applicable to the whole building versus the systems which are applicable to individual apartments and offices only. In some cases these systems need to interact. This technical report proposes a logical model for linking building and home control systems even if the two use different physical arrangements of components. The basic recommendations are: • allow for distinct and separate building and home automation control systems, possibly supplied by different manufacturers; • define clear points of connection between building and home control systems; • limit the number of points of connection between building and home control systems, preferably to one per home system; • accommodate systems that provide building tenants with user control of local systems. This favors an architecture where products can be designed for the user to override control decisions within parameters agreed with building management. Such actions are exercised by the building automation system and affect local systems. This enhances user safety and user privacy; • provide seamless links between systems that are based on different architectures, that incorporate different communications protocols, and that may be purchased from different manufacturers.
