This document applies to smoke control dampers, placed on the market and intended to operate as part of a pressure differential system or smoke and heat control system. This document specifies requirements and gives reference to the test methods defined for smoke control dampers and their associated components, such as actuators which are intended to be installed in such systems in buildings. Furthermore, provision on marking and information on installation and maintenance of these products are also given. This document distinguishes between two categories of smoke control dampers, i.e. single-compartment smoke control dampers and multi-compartment fire-resisting smoke control dampers. Smoke control dampers covered by this document can be installed into smoke control system ducts or onto the ducts’ surface. They can be installed also into a wall, floor or ceiling/roof elements or onto the surface of these elements. To avoid duplication, reference is made to a variety of other standards. To this end, this document NOTE can be read in conjunction with EN 13501-4, EN 1366-10 and ISO 10294-1 for details of the furnace testing. This document does not consider in detail the detrimental and/or corrosive effects that can be caused by process chemicals present in the atmosphere, which are drawn through the system intentionally or inadvertently.

To this end, this document can be read in conjunction with EN 1366-8, EN 1366-9 and ISO 6944-1, for details of the fire resistance testing and EN 13501-4 for corresponding classification. This document has not considered in detail the detrimental and/or corrosive effects that may be caused by process chemicals present in the atmosphere, which are drawn through the system intentionally or inadvertently. This European Standard specifies safety and performance requirements for double acting hydraulic rescue tools manufactured after the date of publication. It is applicable to double acting hydraulic rescue tool systems which are intended for use by the firefighting and rescue services, principally for cutting through, spreading or pushing apart the structural parts of road vehicles, ships, trains, aircraft and building structures involved in accidents. They consist of a separate power pack, the tool[s] and the necessary interconnections and intended accessories, as defined in Clause 3 - Terms and definitions. This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events relevant to the machinery, when it is used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer. NOTE 1 The aim is to assist while extracting the casualties or to create a working space for paramedical services taking the local conditions into account. It is not applicable to additional requirements for: a) operation in severe conditions (e. g. extreme environmental conditions such as: temperatures outside the range -20 °C up to +55 °C, corrosive environment, tropical environment, contaminating environments, strong magnetic fields, potentially explosive atmospheres); b) the risk directly arising from the means provided for the portability, transportability and mobility of double-acting hydraulic rescue tools during periods of their operation. NOTE 2 For the EU/EEA other Directives can be applicable to the equipment in the scope, for example the Electro Magnetic Compatibility Directive.
