Recommendation ITU-T P.310 provides audio performance requirements and associated testing methods for narrow-band (300-3400 Hz) digital handset and headset telephones.Requirements and test methods are specified for the major audio transmission parameters including sending and receiving frequency response,loudness rating,noise,distortion,out-of-band signals,linearity,sidetone,echo and delay.This Recommendation is only applicable to digital telephones using encoding conforming to Recommendations ITU-T G.711 (64 kbit/s, PCM) and ITU-T G.726 (32 kbit/s,ADPCM).IP terminals and wireless headsets are not covered in this recommendation.

The aim of the United Kingdom Radiotelephony Manual (CAP 413) is to provide pilots and Air Traffic Services personnel with a compendium of clear, concise, standardised phraseology and associated guidance, for radiotelephony communication in United Kingdom airspace. Radiotelephony (RTF) communications between United Kingdom air traffic services units and pilots are expected to comply with the phraseology described in this manual. Operational details can be found in the United Kingdom Aeronautical Information Publication (UK AIP). Phraseology for air traffic controllers (consistent with CAP 413) is also published in the Manual of Air Traffic Services (CAP 493). CAP 413 is also a useful reference for those studying for the UK Flight Radiotelephony Operator's Licence. Candidates for JAA pilot and instrument rating examinations should note that the syllabus for the communications examination is drawn directly from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Annex 10 Volume 2 and ICAO Doc 9432-AN/925 and not CAP 413.

This Recommendation defines the embedded Digital Voice Adaptor (E-DVA) requirements for the analog interface and for powering of the E-DVA. An embedded DVA is a DOCSIS cable modem (CM) integrated with a IPCablecom2 DVA. The purpose of this Recommendation is to define a set of requirements that will enable a sufficiently reliable service to meet assumed consumer expectations related to residential telephony. These assumed expectations include constant availability, including availability during power failure at the customer’s premise, and access to emergency services (e.g. 121 or 911.). It is an important objective of this work that interoperability between IPCablecom 2.0 and 3GPP IMS is provided. IPCablecom 2.0 is based upon 3GPP IMS, but includes additional functionality necessary to meet the requirements of cable operators. Recognizing developing converged solutions for wireless, wireline, and cable, it is expected that further development of IPCablecom 2.0 will continue to monitor and contribute to IMS developments in 3GPP, with the aim of alignment of 3GPP IMS and IPCablecom 2.0. Note – The structure and content of this Recommendation have been organized for ease of use by those familiar with the original source material; as such, the usual style of ITU-T recommendation has not been applied.

The IPCablecom2 Residential SIP Telephony effort is intended to replicate many of the residential features currently available on the public switched telephone network (PSTN), except that the features operate using a IPCablecom2-based IP (Internet Protocol) network using SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) for VoIP (voice over IP) sessions. The IPCablecom2 Residential SIP Telephony features described in this document are intended to form the basis for specification requirements that define the behavior of SIP clients that interact with the IPCablecom2 network and the corresponding network behavior. This Recommendation describes the behaviour of residential telephony features using a standard RST Client (called RST User Equipment, or RST UE, or simply UE in this document) connected to the IPCablecom2 network. Prior IPCablecom efforts have defined residential telephony capabilities that operate on an IPCablecom IP network. IPCablecom defined an MGCP-based (Media Gateway Control Protocol) architecture in which a centralized Call Management Server (CMS) controls the telephony services provided by MTAs (Multimedia Terminal Adapters). The IPCablecom2 Residential SIP Telephony specification defines how UEs can support residential telephony capabilities similar to that of IPCablecom. This allows for the deployment of new types of clients and services while maintaining continuity with existing residential telephony services. This Recommendation is the overview document describing basic telephony features to be supported in SIP. It is an important objective of this work that interoperability between IPCablecom 2.0 and 3GPP IMS is provided. The purpose of the rules and regulations in this part is to provide for uniform standards for the protection of the telephone network from harms caused by the connection of terminal equipment and associated wiring thereto, and for the compatibility of hearing aids and telephones so as to ensure that persons with hearing aids have reasonable access to the telephone network. (47 U.S.C. 151, 154(i), 154(j), 201–205, 218, 220, 313, 403, 412, and 5 U.S.C. 553) [49 FR 21733, May 23, 1984] (a) Except as provided in paragraphs (b) and (c) of this section, the rules and regulations apply to direct connection of all terminal equipment to the public switched telephone network for use in conjunction with all services other than party line services. (b) National defense and security. Where the Secretary of Defense or authorized agent or the head of any other governmental department, agency, or administration (approved in writing by the Commission to act pursuant to this rule) or authorized representative, certifies in writing to the appropriate common carrier that compliance with the provisions of part 68 could result in the disclosure of communications equipment or security devices, locations, uses, personnel, or activity which would adversely affect the national defense and security, such equipment or security devices may be connected to the telephone company provided communications network without compliance with this part, provided that each written certification states that: (1) The connection is required in the interest of national defense and security; (2) The equipment or device to be connected either complies with the technical criteria pertaining thereto or will not cause harm to the nationwide telephone network or to employees of any provider of wireline telecommunications; and (3) The installation is performed by well trained, qualified employees under the responsible supervision and control of a person who is a licensed professional engineer in the jurisdiction in which the installation is performed. (c) Governmental departments, agencies, or administrations that wish to qualify for interconnection of equipment or security devices pursuant to this section shall file a request with the Secretary of this Commission stating the reasons why the exemption is requested. A list of these departments, agencies, or administrations that have filed requests shall be published in the FEDERAL REGISTER. The Commission may take action with respect to those requests 30 days after publication. The Commission action shall be published in the FEDERAL REGISTER. However, the Commission may grant, on less than the normal notice period or without notice, special temporary authority, not to exceed 90 days, for governmental departments, agencies, or administrations that wish to qualify for interconnection of equipment or security devices pursuant to this section. Requests for such authority shall state the particular fact and circumstances why authority should be granted on less than the normal notice period or without notice. In such cases, the Commission shall endeavor to publish its disposition as promptly as possible in the FEDERAL REGISTER. [66 FR 7580, Jan. 24, 2001]
