The scope of this document is limited to the compatibility of typical fluids that may come in contact with PTFE hose assemblies. PTFE hose assemblies may be braided with CRES wire, polyester or para-aramid fibers. Hose assemblies may be equipped with aluminum, CRES, titanium or nickel alloy fittings; and with fire resistant cover materials. All of these constituent materials of PTFE hose assemblies must be compatible with all of the fluids found in any particular application.

This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) defines the materials, apparatus and procedure for sizing and counting of particulate contamination, 5 鎚 or greater, in hydraulic fluid samples by membrane filtration iwth microscopic counting. It is capable of counting particulate matter in samples withdrawn from fluid power systems as identified by the 12 classes of SAE AS 4059 or NAS 1638 and projected beyond these for the five standard ranges specified and can thus serve as the primary document to determine acceptability. It is also capable of revealing but not measuring evidence of abnormal amount of water, other fluids, fine particulate and other materials, especially fibers and metals. It is applicable to all military, civil, space vehicles and test equipment.

This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) defines the wear limits allowed on certain features of pressure fuel servicing adapters which are crucial for safe interfacing of pressure fuel servicing nozzles and pressure caps. Wear limits as described herein represent the maximum amount of wear on certain features of the adapter beyond which use of the adapter for these purposes may contribute to an unsafe condition. Such wear is the result of the normal use of the adapter for aircraft refueling and also, in some cases, for nozzle stowage on refueling vehicles.

This International Standard gives specifications for medium pressure, high temperature, flexible metal hose assemblies suitable for continuous operation in liquid and pneumatic systems from - 55 ℃ to + 400 ℃, with short duration excursions up to + 650 ℃. The hose assemblies covered by this International Standard are intended for use in aerospace applications for conveying air and other gases in pneumatic systems, bleed air systems, heating and ventilating systems and instrument air systems when used at pressures and temperatures within the limits laid down in Tables 2 and 3. This International Standard does not cover flow velocity in such assemblies exceeding 54 m/s; higher velocities require special vibration-dampening devices. Hose assemblies supplied to the specifications laid down in this International Standard may be of two types: — Type 1: Convoluted inner tube - welded, of moderate mass and moderate flexibility. — Type 2: Convoluted inner tube - seamless or butt-welded and redrawn, of low mass and high flexibility.
