This International Standard specifies design, type testing and marking requirements for: a) cylinder valves intended to be fitted to refillable transportable gas cylinders; c) cylinder valves or main valves with integrated pressure regulator (VIPR); b) main valves (excluding ball valves) for cylinder bundles; which convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases. NOTE 1 Where there is no risk of ambiguity, cylinder valves, main valves and VIPR are addressed with the collective term “valves” within this International Standard. This International Standard covers the function of a valve as a closure. This International Standard does not apply to — valves for cryogenic equipment, portable fire extinguishers and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and — quick-release valves (e.g. for fire-extinguishing, explosion protection and rescue applications), nonreturn valves or ball valves. NOTE 2 Requirements for valves for cryogenic vessels are specified in ISO 21011 and at a regional level e.g. in EN 1626. Requirements for LPG valves are specified in ISO 14245 or ISO 15995. Requirements for quick-release valves are specified e.g. in ISO 17871. Requirements for valves for portable fire extinguishers at a regional level are specified e.g. in EN 3 series. Requirements for non-return valves and ball valves might be specified in international/regional standards. NOTE 3 Requirements for manufacturing tests and examinations of valves covered by this International Standard are given in ISO 14246. NOTE 4 Additional requirements for VIPR are specified in ISO 22435 for industrial applications or ISO 10524-3 for medical applications. Additional requirements for residual pressure valves with or without a non-return function are specified in ISO 15996. Additional requirements for pressure-relief devices might be specified in international/regional regulations/standards. NOTE 5 Additional specific requirements for valves for breathing apparatus at a regional level are specified e.g. in EN 144 series. Additional specific requirements for quick-release valves for fixed fire-fighting systems are specified in ISO 16003 and at a regional level e.g. in EN 12094–4.

Diese Internationale Norm gilt fur a) Flaschenventile fur wiederbefullbare ortsbewegliche Gasflaschen, b) Hauptabsperrventile (ausgenommen Kugelhahne) fur Flaschenbundel, c) Flaschenventile oder Hauptabsperrventile mit integriertem Druckregler (VIPR, en: valve with integrated pressure regulator), die nach ISO 10297 ausgelegt und baumustergepruft wurden. ANMERKUNG Sofern keine Gefahr der Mehrdeutigkeit besteht, werden Flaschenventile, Hauptabsperrventile und VIPR in diesem Dokument zusammengefasst mit dem Begriff "Ventile" bezeichnet. Die Grundsatze dieser Prufungen und Uberprufungen konnen nutzbringend auf Flaschenventile angewendet werden, die nach nationalen oder nach von ISO 10297 abweichenden Internationalen Normen baumustergepruft wurden.

ANMERKUNG 1 Sofern keine Gefahr der Mehrdeutigkeit besteht, werden Flaschenventile, Hauptabsperrventile und VIPR in dieser Internationalen Norm zusammengefasst mit dem Begriff "Ventile" bezeichnet. Diese Internationale Norm behandelt die Funktion eines Ventils als Verschluss. Diese Internationale Norm gilt nicht fur Ventile fur Kryo-Anlagen, tragbare Feuerloscher und fur Flussiggas (LPG), und Schnelloffnungsventile (z. It states the fundamental requirements for both; the connection and its components and includes basic dimensions. Included in this International Standard are the following connections: — yoke type outlet connection for SCUBA use up to a maximum cylinder working pressure of 232 bar; — threaded type outlet connections up to a maximum cylinder working pressure of 232 bar and 300 bar; and -threaded type outlet connection for SCUBA use up to a maximum cylinder working pressure of 232 bar including adaptor for users to convert into a yoke type outlet.

Dieser Teil von ISO 11114 liefert eine Anleitung fur die Auswahl und Bewertung der Vertraglichkeit von nichtmetallischen Werkstoffen fur Gasflaschen und Ventile mit den in Beruhrung kommenden Gasen. Er gilt auch fur Bundel, Grosflaschen und Druckfasser. Dieser Teil von ISO 11114 kann fur Gasflaschen verwendete Verbund- und Schichtwerkstoffe von Nutzen sein. Er behandelt das Thema nicht vollstandig und ist nur als Hilfestellung zur Bewertung der Vertraglichkeit von Gas/Werkstoffkombinationen vorgesehen. Es wird ausschlieslich die Auswirkung des Gases auf Anderungen der Werkstoff- und mechanischen Eigenschaften (z. B. chemische Reaktion oder Anderungen des physikalischen Zustandes) berucksichtigt. Die fur Auslegungszwecke notwendigen grundsatzlichen Werkstoffeigenschaften, wie z. B. mechanische Eigenschaften, werden ublicherweise vom Werkstofflieferanten bereitgestellt und in diesem Teil von ISO 11114 nicht berucksichtigt. Die enthaltenen Vertraglichkeitsdaten beziehen sich auf Einzelgase, konnen jedoch in gewissem Umfang auch fur Gasgemische verwendet werden. Dieser Teil von ISO 11114 gilt nicht fur Keramiken, Glaser und Klebstoffe. Andere Gesichtspunkte, wie z. B. die Qualitat des gelieferten Gases, werden nicht berucksichtigt. This International Standard may be applied to cylinder valves at the time of the periodic inspection of gas cylinders, bundles, drums and trailers, and at any other time, e.g. at change of gas service (see ISO 11621). It does not apply to routine inspection of cylinder valves carried out at the time of cylinder filling. NOTE National standards and regulations may apply to maintenance of cylinder valves.
