This Part of BS 6833 specifies requirements for the simple call-routeing mode (SCRM) of operation of a cordless PBX using radio links, connected at the users' premises to analogue interfaces of a PSTN and where the terminating stations, their radio links and their cabling are treated with the PBX as an entirety. This Part of BS 6833 also specifies requirements for apparatus defined in 2.2.18 of BS 6833 : Part 2 : 1992 where certain radio features are included in this Part that are excluded from BS 6833 : Part 2. Requirements for direct dialling in (DDI), requirements for ports on the PBX to which private circuits or other voice or data terminating stations are connected, or requirements for facilities, are not specified in this Part of BS 6833 but are specified in the relevant Parts of BS 6450. This Part of BS 6833 does not apply to PBX for connection in parallel with any other apparatus whose ringer equivalence number (REN) (see 4.2 of BS 6305 : 1992) exceeds 0.3. Where reference is made in this Part of BS 6833 to a particular clause in another publication, the requirements are applicable irrespective of the scope of that publication. Any clauses not specifically invoked do not apply. NOTE 1. Unless otherwise stated, all clause references refer to this Part of BS 6833. NOTE 2. The titles of the publications referred to in this Part of BS 6833 are listed on the inside back cover.
