以下内容是参加完一个关于怎样加速自己的写作的讲座时候整理出来的。发言和PPT都是英文所以就整理成英文了，希望对大家有用。

1.Be specific!
Make clear what the next most important thing is (what to write).

2.Myth and truth in writing
Myth one: I will write when I feel ready, and I don’t feel ready yet.
Truth: you may never feel ready. You have to start before you feel ready.
Two kind of person who always don’t feel ready:
o       Readitis: people who believe that reading one more article will solve all the research problems.
o       Experimentists: people who believe that doing one more experiment will solve all the research problems.

Myth two: I will get it all clear in my head first and write it down.
Truth: writing is not recording. Writing is creative.

Myth three: writing should be easy. It should flow.
Truth: writing is not like in the movies. You have to show up even you muse doesn’t.

3.Tips for writing:
*       Set specific time for your writing.
*       Write little and often. Like having regular snacks.
*       Writing should be the first thing of the day.
*       Write early in the morning.
   o       Distractions and tiredness happen in the day.
   o       You don’t feel guilty for the rest of your whole day!
*       “The two golden hours” (write two hours per day)
   o       Assume the position. 90% of success is just turning up.
   o       Nailing your feet to the floor.
*       Don’t check emails
*       Don’t check references

4.What is writing?
It’s usually new words.
It’s not editing, formatting, polishing, surfing the internet, referencing, checking emails, photocopying, or even facebook.

5.Common worries about writing and the facts:
What if it isn’t good enough? (You can review and edit it)
What if the argument is not deep and rich enough? (You can solve it by showing them to the supervisor)
What if I miss a key point? (Discuss with the supervisor)
What if it sounds ridiculous and stupid? (Remember: the first piece of everything is shit)

6.About feedbacks of your writing:
They are free advices.
Show your work, ask specific questions.
Remember to handle those feedbacks instead of putting them away
