微藻培养工程

----Microalgal Engineering at the University of Adelaide

    阿德雷德大学化学工程学院的微藻工程研究小组(MERG)致力于应用湖沼与藻类学和生物技术的研究、咨询和技术开发及其在工业、社会和环境领域的应用。目前的研究主题集于微藻在商业化生产和环境领域的应用以及水质控制过程。MERG的目标是深化对微藻生态学的了解以推动商业化规模的微藻培养技术的开发,这一技术对于生物活性物质、水产养殖饵料、精细化学品和可再生燃料的生产是必需的。另外,如CO2的生物修复和微藻过度生长的控制等涉及环境领域的课题也是MERG所关注的对象。本次讲座将对MERG近期正在进行的科研活动进行概述,并详细介绍有关光生物反应器模型和可降解聚合物PHB生产藻种的筛选工作。

   The School of Chemical Engineering has a strong research team that is focused on solving problems and providing answers for industry and the wider community. Research is principally in the areas of:

  2. Energy and the Environment
  3. Chemical Kinetics & Reaction Engineering 
  4. Fluid & Particle Mechanics 
  5. Process Systems Engineering
  6. Laser Diagnostics & Combustion Engineering
  7. Micro-algal Biotechnology


    Current research themes of the Microalgal Engineering Research Group (MERG) include commercial and environmental applications of microalgae, and water quality processes. This talk will present an overview of current and recent research activities undertaken by the MERG followed a more in-depth look at modeling of photobioreactors and screening of microalgae for the production of the biodegradable polymer, Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB)
