The document stipulates rules for processing of product defined data, which are based on article characteristics as laid down in product related Standards (like DIN 4000 for Article Characteristics and DIN V 4001 for Geometric Data) in catalogues and also in documents for multi used parts. Herewith it is possible to transfer the contents of such tables, like used in technical documents for parts, and build up data-files. These files can be used in neutral form to provide modern application programmes and software with product data information, for example in the area of CAx.
