- The document specifies requirements and corresponding test methods for precipitated sodium aluminium silicate for use as extender in paints. For the composition (silica and oxides contents), residue on sieve, lightness, matter volatile at 105 ? loss on ignition, oil absorption value and pH value figures are specified. Requirements for particle size distribution and specific surface area are left to an agreement between the interested parties.
