1. This specification covers the requirements for domestic electric toasters having heating elements intended for operation on voltages exceeding 30 volts r.m.s. a.c. or 50 volts d.c. but not exceeding 250 volts r.m.s. a.c. or 250 volts d.c.
The toasters covered by this specification are of two types :
(a) automatic toasters in which the duration of the toasting period is pre-determined by the setting of a built-in control device and
(b) non-automatic toasters in which the duration of the toasting period is controlled manually.
