This Standard specifies the testing method for three-point and four-point fiexural strength, at room temperature (5 ~C to 35 ~C), of high performance ceramics used as the high strength material for machinery parts, structural materials, and others. NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and sym- bol of degree of correspondence are as follows: ISO 14704:2000 Fine ceramics (advanced ceramics, advanced techni- cal ceramics)- Test method for tlexura] strength of monolithic ceram- ics at room temperature (MOD) The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between JIS and the International Standard are IDT (identical), MOD (modified) and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21.
