This standard gives general rules for the fabrication by vvelding of pressure vessels and their parts. Here fabrication is taken to include heat treatment, alteration and repair work, and installation involving other than screvved or flanged connections.
A pressure vessel or a part thereof shall be fabricated in compliance with an approved construction pian.
If fabrication of a pressure vessel has been commenced prior to approval of the construction pian, the manufacturer is obliged to carry out any alterations that the approval decision might require.
The requirements in Cl. 3 below apply to the manufacturer.
