It specifically aims to cover the chemical analysis of undisturbed, urban agricultural and contaminated soils and describes the factors that need to be taken into account to establish routine applicability of a method for analysis of soils. It does not establish regulatory limits or provide information regarding the relationship of results to factors such as bioavailability.
