This standard applies to thermoplastics pipes with profiled walls and smooth inner surfaces made from polyethylene (PE 63, PE 80, PE 100 and PE-HD), unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), polypropylene (PP), homopolymers and copolymers, and to fittings made from these pipes.
For the purposes of this standard, profiled pipes are those with profiled outer surfaces, flanged pripes, helically wound pipes with smooth or profiled outer surfaces, and pipes with foamed inserts in their walls.
It shall be noted that for particular application existing European product standards are to be complied with. Some of these European product standards have been included in the bibilography for information. Since European Standards are subject to continous revision, the list is not exhaustive.
