1.1 This specification covers requirements for the compound and physical characteristics of cork floor tile. This standard specifies the requirements for cork floor coverings made from agglomerated composition cork supplied in tile form, which are designed to be used with a factory finish or an in situ finish, or both. 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. This European Standard specifies the requirements for cork floor coverings made from agglomerated composition cork supplied in tile form which are designed to be used with a factory finish and/or an insitu finish. Cork floor coverings can be covered with other complementary layers of decorative materials, e.g. decorative cork or wood veneers, with or without applied colours. This European Standard includes a classification system based on intensity of use which shows where cork floor tiles should give satisfactory service (see EN 685). It also specifies requirements for marking, labelling and packing.
