This European Standard applies to water based heating and cooling systems embedded into the enclosure surfaces of the room to be heated or to be cooled. Part 5 of this standard deals with the recalculation of values determined in Part 2 of this European Standard for the system in question, using it for floor heating applications. The recalculation method described in this part of the standard enables the conversion of the calculation and test results of Part 2 into results for other surface orientations in the room, i.e. for ceiling and wall heating, as well as for the application as cooling surfaces, i.e. for floor, ceiling and wall cooling. It has to be emphasised that the test results of Part 2 of this European Standard are the basis of all calculation. Therefore the use of this prove method is necessary whether or not the system in question is used for heating or cooling application. This European Standard shall be applied to commercial trade and practical engineering if proved and certifiable values of the thermal output shall be used.

This European Standard specifies the boundary conditions and the prove methods for the determination of the thermal output of hot water floor heating systems as a function of the temperature difference between the heating medium and the room temperature. This standard shall be applied to commercial trade and practical engineering if proved and certifiable values of the thermal output shall be used. This European Standard applies to heating and cooling systems embedded into the enclosure surfaces of the room to be heated or to be cooled. This Part of this European Standard applies to hot water floor heating systems. Applying of Part 5 of this European Standard requires the prior use of this Part of this European Standard. Part 5 of this European Standard deals with the conversion of the thermal output of floor heating systems determined in Part 2 into the thermal output of heating surfaces embedded in walls and ceilings as well as into the thermal output of cooling surfaces embedded in floors, walls and ceilings. The thermal output is proved by a calculation method (Clause 6) and by a test method (Clause 9). The calculation method is applicable to systems corresponding to the definitions in EN 1264-1 (type A, type B, type C, type D). For systems not corresponding to these definitions, the test method shall be used. The calculation method and the test method are consistent with each other and provide correlating and adequate prove results. The prove results, expressed depending on further parameters, are the standard specific thermal output and the associated standard temperature difference between the heating medium and the room temperature as well as fields of characteristic curves showing the relationship between the specific thermal output and the temperature difference between the heating medium and the room.

The following changes in requirements are being proposed: Revisions to the strength requirements of UL 1777 including: specifying that Loading Test for Metallic Chimney Liners, Section 23, does not apply to corrugated liners; reducing loading tests of liners for gas-fueled appliances from 200 to 100 pounds; and specifying that a liner intended for venting gas-fueled only appliances is not subject to the sweep test.

This European Standard specifies methods for measuring the cooling capacity of chilled beams with forced air flow. The evaluation of aerodynamic air performance is not part of this standard. It will be dealt with in the future in a new standard entitled "Air terminal devices - Aerodynamic testing and rating for mixed flow applications for non isothermal testing - Cold jets". The purpose of the standard is to give comparable and repeatable product data. The test method applies to all types of convector cooling systems with forced air supply using any medium as energy transport medium. This standard only applies to situations where induced air only passes through the heat exchanger (primary air does not pass through the heat exchanger). NOTE The result is valid only for the specified test set up. For other conditions, (i.e. different positions of heat loads, inactive ceiling elements around the test objects), the producer should give guidance based on full scale tests. This standard refers to water as the main cooling medium, with the possibility of additional cooling from the primary air. Wherever water is written, any other cooling medium can also be used in the test.

This European Standard describes the method of specifying the design, installation and labelling criteria for chimney systems, connecting flue pipes and air supply pipes for roomsealed heating applications. It also gives information on commissioning of an installed chimney. This standard does not cover:  chimneys designated H (high positive pressure chimneys), and chimneys designated P (normal positive pressure chimneys) serving more than one appliance,  chimneys which serve a mixture of fan assisted or forced draught burners or natural draught appliances,  installations having a configuration of the type C2. This European Standard does not apply to freestanding chimneys covered by EN 13084-1. This standard also specifies limitations for supporting a chimney, and the maximum unsupported chimney height for system chimneys and custom built chimneys.
