This European Standard applies to technical ductwork products, intended for installation in ductwork conforming to EN 1505 and EN 1506, used in air conditioning and ventilation systems defined in the scope of CEN/TC 156. This document specifies the leakage requirements for technical ductwork products, i.e. components in the ductwork that has more functions than conveying air, such as sound attenuators, filter boxes and duct fans, etc. The following products are not within the scope of this document: ? ductwork components like bends, reducers, ducts and T-pieces. EN 12237 and EN 1507 apply; ? flexible ducts according to EN 13180; ? ducts made of insulation ductboards according to EN 13403; ? dampers according to EN 1751; ? air handling units according to EN 1886. This document is a parallel standard to EN 12237, EN 1507 and EN 1751, based on the same leakage classification.

This European Standard specifies the materials, dimensional and performance requirements for precast concrete flue blocks as defined in Clause 3 for use in system chimneys. The flue blocks may be of single wall or multi wall construction. The standard does not apply to flue blocks with back ventilation. This standard does not cover products designated wet (W) in conjunction with corrosion class 3. The standard also specifies a type of flue block to dimensionally co-ordinate with masonry unit coursing height, referred to as a type B (Bonding block). This European Standard also applies to storey-height and flue blocks reinforced for handling. NOTE Any reference to the term flue blocks implies both flue blocks and their fittings, except where otherwise indicated.

This European Standard applies to efficient air filters (EPA), high efficiency air filters (HEPA) and ultra low penetration air filters (ULPA-filters) used in the field of ventilation and air conditioning and for technical processes, e.g. for applications in clean room technology or pharmaceutical industry. It establishes a procedure for the determination of the efficiency on the basis of a particle counting method using an artificial test aerosol, and allows a standardized classification of these filters in terms of their efficiency. This part of EN 1822 applies to the leak testing of filter elements. The scan method which is described in detail regarding procedure, apparatus and test conditions in the body of this standard is valid for the complete range of group H and U filters and is considered to be the reference test method for leak determination. The “Oil Thread Leak Test” according to Annex A and the “0,3 μm - 0,5 μm Particle Efficiency Leak Test” according to Annex E may be used alternatively but for defined classes of group H filters only.

This European Standard sets out criteria to assess the performance of residential ventilation systems (for new, existing and refurbished buildings) which serve single family, multi family and apartment type dwellings throughout the year. This European Standard specifies ways to determine performance criteria to be used for design levels in regulations and/or standards. These criteria are meant to be applied to, in particular: - mechanically ventilated building (mechanical exhaust, mechanical supply or balanced system); - natural ventilation with stack effect for passive ducts; - hybrid system switching between mechanical and natural modes; - windows opening by manual operation for airing or summer comfort issues. This European Standard considers aspects of hygiene and indoor air quality. Health risk from exposure to tobacco smoke is excluded from this European Standard.
