This Code covers the design, fabrication, installation, inspection, and testing of pipeline facilities used for the transportation of gas. This Code also covers safety aspects of the operation and maintenance of those facilities. (See Mandatory Appendix Q for scope diagrams.) This Code is concerned only with certain safety aspects of liquefied petroleum gases when they are vaporized and used as gaseous fuels. (a) This Standard covers manually operated thermoplastic valves in nominal valve sizes 1∕2 through 12. These valves are intended for use below ground in thermoplastic fuel gas distribution mains and service lines. The maximum operating pressure (MOP) at which such distribution piping systems may be operated is in accordance with Transportation of Natural and Other Gas by Pipeline; Minimum Safety Standards [49 C.F.R., §192 (2017)] for temperature ranges of −20°F to 140°F (−29°C to 60°C). (c) This Standard sets requirements for newly manufactured valves for use in below-ground piping systems for fuel gas [includes synthetic natural gas (SNG)] and liquefied petroleum (LP) gases (distributed as a vapor, with or without the admixture of air) or mixtures thereof. This European Standard specifies ranges, construction, performances, output characteristics and testing of rotary displacement gas meters (hereinafter referred to as RD meters or simply meters) for gas volume measurement.This European Standard applies to rotary displacement gas meters used to measure the volume of fuel gases of at least the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gas families, the composition of which is specified in EN 437:2003+A1:2009, at a maximum working pressure up to and including 20 bar over an ambient and gas temperature range of at least -10 °C to +40 °C.

This document specifies safety, constructional and performance requirements of valve-proving systems (VPS), intended for use with gas burners and gas-burning appliances. It also describes the test procedures for checking compliance with these requirements and provides information necessary for the purchaser and user. This document is applicable to all types of VPS which are used for the automatic detection of leakage in a gas burner section having at least two valves designed in accordance with ISO 23551-1 and which give a signal if the leakage of one of the valves exceeds the detection limit. This document is applicable to VPS with a maximum working pressure up to and including 500 kPa for use in systems using fuel gases. The structural requirements for LPG pressure regulating devices as well as their safety devices are specified in the standard DIN EN 16129 "Pressure regulators, automatic change-over devices, having a maximum regulated pressure of 4 bar, with a maximum capacity of 150 kg/h, associated safety devices and adaptors for butane, propane, and their mixtures". The pressure regulating devices with safety devices described in this standard shall also meet the requirements of Annex I of the pressure equipment directive, if applicable. The European standard describes a variety of different LPG pressure regulators used in the individual Member States of the European Union. The connections are given as a standard, and the national regulations apply to the use of the connections. In the individual Member States of the European Union, various connection pressures are set for the connection of LPGs to which the pressure regulators are fixed at the factory. These standards refer to the national operating requirements of the Member States for the cessation of safety equipment. The additional requirements for screwed connections, overpressure safety devices, pressure regulating devices with safety diaphragms and pressure regulators with thermal shut-off devices (TAE) listed in DIN 4811 have been included in DIN EN 16129. For this reason, the relevant sections and appendices of DIN 4811 have been adapted or deleted. In Germany, certain operating regulations exist, For example, low-pressure LPGs are generally operated in a domestic environment at a nominal pressure of 50 mbar according to DIN EN 437.
