Confocal technology at the speed of widefield imaging

Sunnyvale, California, September 1, 2015.  Molecular Devices today announced the launch of the new ImageXpress® Micro Confocal High-Content Imaging System. This transformative system fits a broad range of automated cell-based imaging applications, especially emerging assays that use 3D cellular models such as spheroids, tissues, and organisms.

The ImageXpress Micro Confocal system features the revolutionary AgileOptix™ spinning disc technology which enables simple, user-defined configurations to ensure maximum assay performance for both confocal and widefield imaging. Multiple confocal geometries are available including pinhole and slit confocal imaging–the only commercially available high-content imaging system with this option. Unlike other spinning disc confocal systems, AgileOptix technology enables the ImageXpress Micro Confocal system to deliver the sensitivity and throughput needed for demanding applications by combining a powerful solid-state light engine, proprietary spinning disc technology, advanced optics and high-quantum efficiency scientific CMOS sensors. The system acquires >3 log dynamic range and captures publication-quality images while its large optical field of view maximizes collection of statistically-relevant data.
