Researchers followed the course of 1347 patients admitted to the
hospital with acute heart failure. Overall, 27% developed persistent or
worsened heart failure symptoms within the first 7 days of the
admission. After multivariable **ysis, investigators found that
worsening heart failure was associated with a significantly increased
risk of 30-day heart failure readmission or death （HR, 2.43） and 90-day
mortality （HR, 2.57）。
