This standard specifies general requirements for the basic technical specifications of submersible vertical turbine pumps intended for use in pumping water from wells at normal temperatures and salinities as specified in the Gulf standard mentioned in item 2.1, and utilizing an electric motor of power not less than 5 KW and not larger than 150 KW. Pumps not covered by this definition shall be agreed upon with the manufacturers to meet the requirements for the intended application.
