The object of this standard is to define the fabrication and minimum
performance criteria for leg protective device worn by chain saw users. WARNING - The tests required to verify the compliance of a product with the
requirements of this standard do not indicate the level of performance of the
product in all situations. Operators must realize that the margin of
protection may be reduced when the product used is not in good condition (for
example, signs of poor use or of deterioration of the leg protective devices,
or of one of their components).
