This system will be used to turn on the lights of WECs upon detection of airplanes. Lights are off when they are not needed, thereby to reduce energy consumption and minimize cause for complaint from local residents. 5) Requirement for IR radiation from WECs lights in order to make them visible to rescue teams performing flights at low altitude.
