This standard covers the straight rubber hoses with an intermediate reinforcement layer@ to be primarily used as the main fuel passage of gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles (hereinafter referred to as ??hose??). Remarks 1 This standard does not apply to the hoses to be used with alcohol and alcoholic fuel. 2 Non-reinforced rubber hoses to be used as passages other than the main fuel line@ such as the hose in the evaporative emission control system@ shall be covered by ISD-V01-004Y (Evapo. and vacuum hoses). 3 If curved hoses@ stepped hoses or hoses with joint fittings are required@ they shall conform to their drawings and specifications. However@ their essential characteristics@ such as rubber material properties@ performance as a hose@ inner/outer diameters and others@ should preferably conform to this standard.
