This standard is concerned with PVC-insulated flexible cords with circular copper conductors, for operation at voltages up to and including 300 V to earth and 500 V between conductors. It covers flexible cords suitable for operation where the combination of ambient temperature and temperature rise due to load, results in a conductor temperature not exceeding 70oC.
