This International Standard specifies a general reduction and titrimetric method for the determination, as sulphate, of trace quantities of sulphur compounds in chemical products for industrial use. The International Standard relating to the chemical product to which the method is to be applied shall specify the method by which the test portion should be treated in order to convert the sulphur compounds to sulphate, if necessary, together with any modifications to the general procedure that may be needed.
