What is ISO 1217- Displacement compressors about?
ISO 1217 discusses displacement compressors. displacement compressor is a system that compresses the air by the displacement of a mechanical linkage reducing the volume. Displacement compressors draw in and capture a volume of air in a chamber. They then reduce the volume of the chamber to compress the air. ISO 1217 specifies methods for acceptance tests regarding volume rate of flow and power requirements of displacement compressors. ISO 1217 also specifies methods for testing liquid-ring type compressors.
ISO 1217 specifies the operating and testing conditions which apply when a full performance test is specified. For compressors manufactured in batches or in continuous production quantities and supplied against specified data, the tests described in ISO 1217 are considered equivalent alternatives. ISO 1217 specifies standard inlet conditions for reference purposes and indicates the uncertainty of measurement.
Note: ISO 1217 is not applicable to noise statements, which are identified in ISO 2151.
