What is ISO 21262 about?
ISO 21262 gives safety requirements for the application, operation, maintenance, transport, tow, assembly, and storage of industrial trucks as defined in ISO 5053‑1 .
Note: ISO 21262 applies to the following truck types:
Counterbalance lift trucks
Reach trucks (with a retractable mast or retractable fork arm carriage)
Straddle trucks, Pallet-stacking trucks
Platform trucks, Double stackers, Side-loading trucks (one side only)
Lateral-stacking trucks (both sides), and lateral- and front-stacking trucks
Order-picking trucks
Bidirectional and multidirectional trucks
Counterbalance container handlers
Articulated counterbalance lift trucks
Variable-reach trucks, Pallet trucks
Platform and stillage trucks
Tractors with a drawbar pull up to and including 20 000 n
burden and personnel carriers
Trucks powered by battery, diesel, gasoline, or gas (e.g., LPG, CNG, LNG)
