The objective of this standard is to determine the main dimensions so as to standardize production for the sake of costs economization, as well as specify the principal provisions to ensure efficiency of use. It doesn’t specify the colours or length of filing cabinets but it specifies only standard heights and depths. This Gulf standard states the main dimensions and requirements for each of the following kinds of steel office furniture: 1.1 Kinds of offices and dimensions thereof and side drawers with standard dimensions. 1.2 Vertical filing cabinets for daily uses and the dimensions of their drawers. 1.3 Archives cabinets with two hinged or sliding leaves. 1.4 Drawings cabinets 1.4.1 Cabinets with drawers to keep drawings. 1.4.2 Vertical cabinets for keeping drawings. 1.5 Angular bars and shelves used for storage.
