What is ISO 20890-5 about?
ISO 208905 is the fifth part of the multi-series European standard that specifies guidelines for pre-service inspection (PSI) and in-service inspections (ISI) by eddy current tests on non-ferromagnetic steam generator heating tubes of light water reactors, whereby the test is carried out using mechanized test equipment outwards from the tube inner side.
ISO 20890-5 does not explicitly cover eddy current testing of steam generator heating tube plugs as fixtures or components of the primary circuit. Due to the variety of shapes and sizes of steam generator heating tube plugs, it is necessary to utilize specially adapted test systems to qualify them.
