This standard deals with the loads and actions to be taken into consideration in the planning and design of road bridges.The loads specified in this standard are termed design loads. These are to be used instead of the loads which actually occur.; The design loads also apply to the recalculation of existing road bridges. They apply analogously to other structures in connection with roads on which loads resulting from road traffic act.; Uncommon actions such as the impact of rail vehicles, ice pressure, the impact of ships and earthquakes as well as design loads in certain special cases are not dealt with in this standard. These are to be agreed with the appropriate building authority where necessary.; In the case of rail bridges, the regulations for the construction and operation of the type of track concerned are to be observed.#,,#
