- This standard applies to the calculation of earth pressure on inherently rigid retaining walls, abutments and angular retaining walls. The formulations of earth pressure values relate to two- and three-dimensional cases. The standard gives methods for determining the active and passive earth pressures as well as the earth pressures lying between these two limiting values.; In the case of flexible structures, the determined earth pressure loads must be reduced in accordance with the relevant deflections.
