This technical report applies to optical components of optical fibre amplifiers (OFAs). It is not a standard nor a specification: it merely provides information about the most relevant parameters of OFA optical components. The included definitions, as written, require further study and as such are non-specifiable.
The object of this technical report is to provide information for a better understanding of OFA operation and applications.
NOTE - Each abbreviation introduced in this report is generally explained in the text the first time it appears. However, for an easier understanding of the whole text, a list of all abbreviations used is given in annex A.
