The $7Iinternational vocabulary of basic and general terms in metrology (VIM)$7R was prepared by a Joint Working Group appointed by International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML), and was published by ISO in 1984. Because this publication is so important and fundamental, BSI has made it readily available within the UK. See also BS 5233.
