This proposed standard provides requirements for handset telephones intended for use with hearing aids and for receive-amplified handset telephones intended for use by the hard of hearing. The receive-amplified handset telephones are intended for direct coupling to the ear or for acoustic and/or magnetic coupling to hearing aids.
